All of the tools needed to move forward exist and have been proven viable. Mushrooms that clean oil spills, small human made ecosystems that clean up polluted rivers and lakes, new creation myths grounded in science that break down the illusory barriers we've created between us and our super-duper-natural origins. We have reason to believe that analog technology from a distant future was sent back in time to the 1970's by a far superior race of people, communicating directly to Robert Moog, the creator of the first generation of usable analog synthesizers, used initially in songs such as the Beetles "Here Comes The Sun".<div><br /></div><div>We also have sufficient evidence revealing that the Taurus Pedal is an actual Electronic Being with a will and intention as it's own, an idea held by the early pioneers of electronic music as well as the creators of the first synthesizers, including <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Telharmonium">Telharmonium's</a> inventor, Thaddeus Cahill. We, therefor, have named the Taurus Pedals the fourth Part of Parts For People. Fans and members respect the Taurus Pedals as so, referring to the instrument as "Eminent Electric".</div><div><br /></div><div>Furthermore, it has been stated by current Taurus Engineer and Parts For People bassist, Tim Frick, that "If it wasn't for the Taurus Pedals I wouldn't be making music with Ben and Don. I took a break to pursue my woodwork and career as a Luthier, when the Pedals came into my life. They invigorated me, compelling me make pristine exotic rock capable of filling and transcending Time and Space."</div><div><br /></div><div>It should be noted that analog technologies surpass their digital counterparts in the completeness of their waveforms and effect on the human cellular/energetic field, making the the original synthesizers the most advanced in healing music technology on the market to date. </div><div><a href="http://www.blogger.com/www.myspace.com/partsforpeople"><br /></a></div><div><span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space:pre"><a href="http://www.blogger.com/www.myspace.com/partsforpeople"> </a></span><a href="http://www.blogger.com/www.myspace.com/partsforpeople">LISTEN TO PARTS FOR PEOPLE MUSIC </a> </div>parts for peoplehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14476160636827705177noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8007995618758602147.post-59593130921246692872009-06-26T12:43:00.000-07:002009-07-01T11:52:26.480-07:00The End, The Beginning<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjN9SCisIRSgxjXvUltChBtZFPKVZsTxOja7WDzDhabd23TxMt4tQzcd04goQlxyIMKOrR85iQ7Nug1n6sPdd1DCv0sKLJeQ2Rw1_9z9OTvJTqq42mkStjnbeOgex4FBWzVhYZt50jHQeM/s1600-h/mail-3.jpeg"><img style="display:block; How do you spell woah? Not wow, but woah. Where does that word come from? We'll research. Ok, just researched. It's whoa! Had a sweet show with Hanni El Khatib at <a href="http://www.amnesiathebar.com">Amnesia</a>. As we expected he made panties melt.<div><div><div><br /><div>His voice was amazing, he rocked out hard, but kept the 50's style romantic feel. Lyrics told comedic, yet sometimes violent, tales about living in the dirty city and dating dirty women. But as we said, it was still romantic. The girls we invited to see Parts For People stoked the fires of our rock and roll jealousy as they fawned over the cool cat. The rest of the crowd consisted of mainly skate rats, or hiply dressed skate marmots rather, as Hanni is a fashion designer in the skateboarding universe. They bobbed heads and howled like animals as their man dominated the stage. </div><div><br /></div><div>Boys IV Men topped off the evening with crazy instrumental electronic disco punk. French girls danced, an amazing electric light show blazed, and we ended the night dancing to Michael Jackson, with my favorite song PYT, playing three times. Goddess bless his soul. This marks the end of an era that I am sure foretells a new stage in the natural and supernatural evolution of our species. </div><div><br /></div><div><a href="http://www.blogger.com/www.myspace.com/partsforpeople">Parts For People</a></div><div><a href="http://www.myspace.com/hannielkhatib">Hanni El Khatib</a></div><div><a href="ttp://www.myspace.com/boyz4m">Boys IV Men</a></div></div></div></div>parts for peoplehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14476160636827705177noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8007995618758602147.post-78212733275814433382009-05-07T17:47:00.000-07:002009-06-01T12:15:18.077-07:00BYOB "Bring Your Own Bathrobe" Saturday June 6th<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi8GvUux0X9FgK-FR7CIqVM1yOqKt1kNgq22AL3gxJ8xyMmW2FNzamam9c1KxEgHiBqayARfqtJXFIf3HPIXmc3aDjueRPHuSiO01rZoo8lVH_iMQz9F8P_dE7kLH4PMnTNWYB1qM4tY3A/s1600-h/Terry___Velour_Bathrobes.jpg"><img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 299px; height: 259px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi8GvUux0X9FgK-FR7CIqVM1yOqKt1kNgq22AL3gxJ8xyMmW2FNzamam9c1KxEgHiBqayARfqtJXFIf3HPIXmc3aDjueRPHuSiO01rZoo8lVH_iMQz9F8P_dE7kLH4PMnTNWYB1qM4tY3A/s320/Terry___Velour_Bathrobes.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5333579925724424610" /></a><br /><br /><br /><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div>We are planning the shower-wear event of the century at Kaleidoscope, a new music venue right next door to the world famous Philz Coffee on 24th and Folsom (in da Mission). <div><br /></div><div>This rock and roll show will include <a href="http://www.myspace.com/campobravo">Campo Bravo</a>, Mark Matos' current incarnation. Good to see everybody there. A lot of people loved it even though Ben, The Person That Plays Drums (politically correct term for drummer), was missing due to a sound-guy gig that paid him crazy cash. He's going to share the wealth by going to <a href="http://www.rainbowgrocery.org/">rainbow grocery</a>, foraging for veggies, and making us Jedi soup.<div><br /></div><div>Tim played his Jazzmaster guitar, leaving the bass at home to sleep, or whatever basses do when not being played. He also played his famous Taurus Pedals (the foot keyboard seen in the photo here), and another Moog keyboard by hand. Just three instruments at once, no big deal. He made me look lazy with my lone SG. The keyboards washed over our two electric guitars like liquid sunshine as we sang in their glow. Whatever, it was fun.</div><div><br /></div><div>People loved the minimal sound, saying they could really tune into our voices. We played our usual latest set and one new song, Kaleidoscope. Due to the success of the venture me thinks we gonna continue with that trajectory, adding some more mellow sweet ballads to usual rocking. <br /></div><div><br /></div><div>Thanks to <a href="http://www.myspace.com/ianbjornstad">Ian Bjornstad</a>,an awesome artist who played the show as well. The Summer of Love, what I and my friends have been calling the winter heat spell we just had in San Francisco, is over. Cold rain pours down on Dolores Park. I have the snotty sniffles. But the inspiration of those few hot weeks is still with us as we journey forth into what many foresee being a frickin' awesome 2009.<div><br /></div><div><a href="http://www.myspace.com/partsforpeople">Parts For People</a> just had an amazing show at the infamous Make-Out Room. <a href="http://www.myspace.com/desotoreds">The Desoto Reds</a>, a band from Oakland, thrilled us with archetypal indie beatlesesqueness that intrigues and unfolds into a sound all their own. The experienced sound guy turned our mortal voices into angelic harmonics that even Zeus himself would envy.</div><div><br /></div><div>We were asked if the cameras in our faces distracted us, I guess Hector, the video guy was getting a little artsy. But no, we didn't notice a thing! The songs overtook us. The crowd's howling created an animal gravity that kept our rock in orbit, and taught us the true meaning of love. Love isn't a thing to be looked at, a thing to be consumed, a thing to manipulate with the mechanisms of our greed and fear-driven ambition. Love is when a man and a woman (or a woman and a woman) get together, howl at the moon, and try to make an egg stand on end. Or just <a href="http://www.makeoutroom.com/">make out</a>.</div><div><br /></div><div><a href="http://SFStation.com/">SF Station</a>, a sweet city guide with almost every event going on in town, was cool enough to shoot both video and photography. Look for your beautiful mug shots and footage of the show on their site this week.</div><div><br /></div><div>And due to multiple requests we'll be posting song lyrics here on the blog. </div><div><br /></div><div>To the guy who signed the email list "mademewanttofart@hotmail.com", just grow up, man. I know your name isn't really Fantastic Fruit of Your Loom.</div><div><br /></div><div>THE END <br /></div><div><br /></div><div> </div>parts for peoplehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14476160636827705177noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8007995618758602147.post-29134315928306086172009-01-05T11:42:00.000-08:002009-03-25T23:56:45.448-07:00Tea AND Coffee<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgHIY-WoU4A1CnwtCXH25E-uyNdvZTTHkZH5jrMQlmaH-YPwL1b6_XuC9Hj4pCNCUh-5K63OobMlm1DFIk_vt-olEZBaH1Di1pGGJfe4UFcAeWhsNo-FO0wUxHcupaNPDcvFWWvFSaU_Ns/s1600-h/IMG_0622.JPG"><img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgHIY-WoU4A1CnwtCXH25E-uyNdvZTTHkZH5jrMQlmaH-YPwL1b6_XuC9Hj4pCNCUh-5K63OobMlm1DFIk_vt-olEZBaH1Di1pGGJfe4UFcAeWhsNo-FO0wUxHcupaNPDcvFWWvFSaU_Ns/s400/IMG_0622.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5289058856704449090" /></a><br /><br /><a href="http://www.myspace.com/partsforpeople">Parts For People</a> is soon to record monster songs based on collective memory, filtered through years of being force-fed bad pop. The current process unfolds thusly:<div> <div>Tim diligently works his wood. His workshop is crystal-like, precise in its angular arrangement. Tools, small jewels, slowly chipping away at the raw material of the natural world. And out of the cave, this dark hole in the side of the hill they call Potrero, are birthed baby guitars... And the bass with which he rocks.</div><div><br /></div><div>Ben, asleep in his nesty room, awakes upon hearing the click-clock-clack of boards hitting the concrete of the nearby skate park. He descends the Hill, soon entering the valleys and crannies of surfable stone. Catching one last taste of flow, he uses its inertia to slide onto and into the infamous number 33 bus. </div><div><br /></div><div>The air is filled with rhythm, the wheels of this bus go round and round. He arrives at Amoeba Records. People speak to him but he hears not their words, only frequencies and harmonics, the curse of a Sound Engineer. He deciphers and names in his mind each and every tone as someone asks, "Like, where is the Jack Johnson section?" He translates into the forgotten language of drum and replies to the dumbfounded USF student, </div><div><br /></div><div>"BLIKM, BLAKM!"</div><div><br /></div><div>Don, hovering over the twin realities of spirit and material San Francisco, realizes his tea is finished and that he must water the Dragon. The Dragon is life, the Dragon is the world. He relieves himself and sets forth upon the Mission streets, after taking way too long deciding what to wear. He wanders, seeking guidance from the universe, crossing the same street twice, meandering between states of power and shear retardedness, he receives a message from the Underworld:</div><div><br /></div><div>Today you shall drink Tea AND Coffee!</div><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div><div><br /></div><div> </div></div>parts for peoplehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14476160636827705177noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8007995618758602147.post-64520240070755777762008-12-16T14:40:00.000-08:002009-03-16T23:40:13.602-07:00<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhoSXfFoa6WRBi0Hd5M_IgN2EKkcbUTMtND_1LBAB1UtY0dACVH2o-URSg6NHU1pzatg_AgWF3RBAey4gc-PPDWl3cJZc4wGfcARhmswsMCPyAKSnQ1m05lek3l2gm_Csk31TIDXSom0RI/s1600-h/PONY.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 271px; height: 217px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhoSXfFoa6WRBi0Hd5M_IgN2EKkcbUTMtND_1LBAB1UtY0dACVH2o-URSg6NHU1pzatg_AgWF3RBAey4gc-PPDWl3cJZc4wGfcARhmswsMCPyAKSnQ1m05lek3l2gm_Csk31TIDXSom0RI/s400/PONY.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5314042802405182434" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjrJXlcuKVrQZY-xYK6BJ56MDN0KsXRy70d1NV7Zqml6_0jaBmWh00A78v2T5nzMeI3zF4HcbPVupQMNzLRr44ON-33oU5HpURtaFFW9yAYophi-M2j9yA-2gAnEUUc8acjww2UXstfQu4/s1600-h/PONY.jpg"><br /></a><br />The last show was an intimate evening for us as we played to a pre-holiday crowd huddled around us in a circle of power.<div><br /></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-style: italic;">Dot Punto</span> rocked out before us , adding some purely electronic numbers to the mix with a guest artist on the laptop. In an effort to create new people for parts in the ongoing Rock-u-drama taking place across conceptual borders, we decided to create a band meant to act as a magnetic attractor and transmitter of new emotional patterns for use in every day creative life. In this sense we are also creating new parts for people already in existence, energetic organs evolved to support the classical ideal of the past while clearing space for the new frontiers to come.<div><br /></div><div>Wait, what?</div><div><br /></div><div>Listen to our music <a href="http://www.myspace.com/partsforpeople">HERE</a></div><div><br /></div><div><br /><div><br /></div></div>parts for peoplehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14476160636827705177noreply@blogger.com0
